OKLAHOMA CITY -- It's been eight months since a man was shot and killed at an Oklahoma City apartment complex and no one has been charged with the crime. Now the man's family is taking steps to help bring the killer to justice.

Oklahoma City police haven't given up on this case, but right now the trail is cold. So the family is offering a cash reward for information to help catch the killer.

Twenty-eight-year-old Lemorris Walton lived in eastern Oklahoma with his two children, but last November 15 he was visiting the London Square Apartments in Oklahoma City when he was shot to death.

"I looked up, and he hit his head, and the next thing he didn't get back up," said witness Simone Roberts.

Police arrested Quaylin Owens, two days after the shooting, but he was never charged with the murder.

Now Walton's mother announced the family is offering a $1,000 reward to find her son's killer.

"I just want some answers. I mean somebody out there knows, and I think they should tell. I mean, what if it was their brother, their uncle, or their dad? Wouldn't they want the same answers?" said Shelia Younger, Walton's mother.

Police said they welcome whatever help they can get.

"Basically right now we are kinda back at square one. We don't have any real solid leads," said Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow.

After Walton's death, his mother is now raising his two children.

"The little girl just cries and says she misses her dad, and the little boy just tells me that my dad's not dead. My dad tells me he loves me and kisses me all the time. I don't tell them any different," Younger said.

The reward the family is offering is in addition to any Crime Stoppers reward that might be available.

If you have any information about this crime call Oklahoma City police at 405-297-1160.
