TULSA, OK -- A Tulsa water park was evacuated and closed Wednesday evening after a number of fights broke out at the facility.

Tulsa Police say Big Splash at 21st and Yale had an event Wednesday evening where customers could get in for $5.

Thousands showed up and police say eventually things got out of hand.

Big Splash is open Thursday until 6:00 p.m.

Wednesday evening officers say a number of fights broke out inside the park.  Police say one young girl suffered injuries to her ribs when she was trampled.

With only one security guard on duty at the time, Tulsa Police say Big Splash made the call to evacuate and close the park for the evening.

"With 3,500 people inside the park it's really hard to manage anything going on, so management of Big Splash made the decision to have everybody leave the park, to close the park down and that's exactly what they did," said Tulsa Police Captain Travis Yates.

After evacuating the park, police say a number of teens began jumping on nearby patrol cars.  Groups of teens also began fighting at nearby businesses, including the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market and QuikTrip.

Police say no damage was reported and no one has been arrested.
