TULSA, OK -- With the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure scheduled for next month, time is running out if you still want to register to participate.

Registration is still open until the end of the month for teams and individuals.

Some people say they're going to race, but time gets away from them and they forget to register.

The News On 6 talked with one woman who says this is her year to get involved.

Breast cancer is a family affair for Dian, her daughter Tawnya and her mother Verna.

Verna is a breast cancer survivor and Dian has had a recent scare herself.

"I found a lump and went through the mammogram and ultrasound and came out clean. I said that's a sign I need to do something. It's got to start with someone and each one of us can be a voice and that's why I decided to do it this year," said Dian Keltner-Mills.

It is time again for the Susan G. Komen's Race for the Cure in Tulsa.

Dian is ready to form a team and walk.

It's really simple to do. First you log on to NewsOn6.com.  Look for LeAnne Taylor's team icon, click on the icon and you'll be able to join the team or form one of your own.

"I've talked to people at work, friends, relatives and everyone is like I'll do it, I'll do it, I'll do it so it's just the camaraderie and just getting out there and having fun and raising money, being a voice," said Dian Keltner-Mills.

Dian has created her team in honor of her mom. They're called Verna's Army!

The whole family will be there including Dian's son-in-law Tom.

"I want to do everything I can to support the ones I love. These ladies have been through everything, you know a lot of guys have inspiration through football players or astronauts. Being with these three, that's all the inspiration I need," said Tom Wallace.

This year's Race for the Cure is set for Saturday, September 19 at CityPlex Towers at 81st and Lewis.

Team registration continues through the first of September.
