OKLAHOMA CITY -- A victim is upset and wants the man she says attacked her held responsible, but that may never happen.

Earlier this week a bar fight involved a bachelorette party at Club Rodeo in Oklahoma City. Sterling Beecroft, 27, was arrested in connection with the fight but authorities say he isn't to blame for the fight.

One of the women in the bachelorette party says there is no doubt the injuries she and her friends suffered that night were at the hands of Sterling Beecroft. The just one problem is the District Attorney says their pointing they're finger at the wrong man.

Emily Cunningham was with her friends at Club Rodeo over the past weekend celebrating her bachelorette party.

"We were having a great night out, girl's night out," Cunningham said. "It was just a really bad ending to a good night."

Cunningham says a confrontation in the bar with another group of people led to an all-out fight ending with her and her friends physically assaulted. The man she and her friends say did it is Beecroft.

"He grabbed my face and pushed me up into the wall of the club," Cunningham said. "People got him off of me temporarily and then got me by the throat and pushed me again."

According to the police report witnesses agree Beecroft was responsible.

According to the report, "all three witnesses were spoken to individually and verified all three victim's stories."

But new evidence suggests Beecroft is not the man the women are convinced did it.

"I don't think anyone here is saying that Ms. Cunningham was not involved in a physical altercation, it just wasn't Mr. Beecroft," Sterling Beecroft's attorney Steve Stice said.

And Beecrofts attorney isn't the only one saying that. Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater issued this statement:

"After further investigation, Beecroft was not the assailant...it was another person in the group that committed the assault."

Oklahoma City Police are now looking into the other people involved. In the meantime Beecroft's attorney says the past week has not been easy on his client.

"He's upset, as you can imagine," Stice said. "It's never fun being convicted of something you didn't do."

Beecroft's attorney says this other person who is now believed responsible has been questioned by investigators and has admitted to some involvement. Police did not have a comment on the issue.

The women in the bachelorette party are in Hawaii this weekend for the wedding. When they return, police say they will be furthered questioned by police. For now, the women say they are sticking to their story.
