Okmulgee Hit-And-Run Victim Dies

OKMULGEE, OK -- A nine-year-old girl involved in a hit-and-run in Okmulgee earlier this month has died.

According to the Okmulgee Police Department, Piper Haney died shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday. The nine-year-old was pronounced dead by attending physicians at a Tulsa hospital.

Officers say the girl was riding her bike near the city park when she was hit by a pickup truck.

Officers have followed up on numerous leads, but still have not found the driver or vehicle involved in the accident.
