Tulsa Man, Woman Killed In Head-On Crash

A man and woman from Tulsa are dead after a motorcycle traveling the wrong way on a Mayes County highway slammed into an oncoming sport utility vehicle.

UNDATED -- A Tulsa man and woman are dead after the motorcycle they were riding the wrong way on a Mayes County highway collided head on with an oncoming sport utility vehicle.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the 36-year-old motorcycle driver, identified as Donald Broughton, and his 35-year-old female passenger, Angela Halford, both were killed in the accident at about 2 a.m. Saturday on Highway 20 east of Pryor.

The patrol says the 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling westbound in the eastbound lane of the highway when it was struck head-on by an eastbound sport utility vehicle. Broughton and Halford died at the scene of massive injuries.

The teen-aged driver and four passengers in the SUV sustained some injuries. Driver Andrea McNair, 19, of Pryor was transported to Mayes County Medical Center in Pryor where she was listed in stable condition.

Passenger Daniel R. Hauenstein Jr., 19, of Pryor refused treatment at the scene, according to the trooper's report. Laura R. Drake-Walker, 16, of Pryor, also a passenger in the SUV, was transported to Mayes County Medical Center in stable condition.

Twenty-year-old passenger Tynan L. McKinney of Pryor was transported to Mayes County Medical Center in stable condition.

The fourth passenger, Sandra S. Vilarrubias, 17, of Pryor, was transported by Tulsa Lifeflight to St. John Hospital where she was listed in stable condition. Lavendar D. Weston, age 18, of Claremore was transported to Mayes County Medical Center in Pryor in stable condition.

The driver and passenger in the SUV were wearing safety restraints.
