STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma State University has a new football theme song and it's become viral on the Internet.

The new song called "Cowboys Forever" is by singer-songwriter John Martin. The song will be played during OSU football game opening video.

Listen to the song on John Martin's Web site.

Martin said the song was inspired by the real Pistol Pete, Frank Eaton. He wanted the song to be about the legend of Oklahoma State University's mascot.

Martin was commissioned by the Big 12 conference to write a sports anthem before the 2009 Big 12 Football Championship. His original song "Live Your Dreams" became the conference slogan and was played during all Big 12 Bowl games and during the BCS National Championship.
