TULSA, OK -- Two Republican leaders announced their support of Dewey Bartlett, Jr. in his campaign for Tulsa mayor. U.S. Senators Jim Inhofe and Tom Coburn, M.D., also joined to encourage voters to elect Bartlett in the general election on Tuesday, November 10.

Bartlett will face Democratic hopeful Tom Adelson for the city's top leadership role.

"Dewey has the private sector perspective outside of politics that makes him the best choice for mayor," Coburn said.

"He has provided leadership in his industry, he has executive experience, and he offers the best choice for Tulsa's future.

Noting there had been a competitive Republican primary election between several qualified candidates seeking the party's nomination for mayor, Inhofe added, "Republicans and conservative Democrats in Tulsa should unite behind Dewey because he will lead the city based on conservative principles.

"Dewey is the candidate who can lead the city in terms of creating an environment for citizens to pursue opportunities for growth and prosperity," Inhofe said.
