TULSA, OK -- Four children were taken from a Tulsa mother after Tulsa Police said they found them living in unsafe conditions Friday night. The mother, Melody Brooke Larson, 30, was arrested on numerous complaints, including four counts of child endangerment and trafficking in methamphetamines.

Feces, uncapped needles, broken glass and prescription drugs were all found within reach of the children ages 19 months, 2, 3, 7 and 10 years of age.

"The entire house was a danger to children," said Corporal Kurt J. Gardner of the Tulsa Police Department.

The police arrived at the residence in the 9000 block of East 37th Street at 9:24 p.m. with a search warrant. They found Larson in the living room and three of the children present at the house. The search revealed 28.24 grams of a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.

"There were numerous needles in the back room, some uncapped and some capped," Gardner said in his report.

"There was human feces on the tile floor. There were numerous prescription drugs within reach of a child," he continued.

"There was human blood that was sprayed on the wall of the master bath from someone using a needle to ingest drugs. These needles with human blood were within reach of a child," he said.

Gardner also noted broken glass on the floor of the kitchen, trash and dirty clothes strewn throughout the house.

Larson's four children, including one that had left with the grandmother, were taken to the Department of Human Services.

Larson was booked on a total of 12 complaints including felony child endangerment (four counts), trafficking in methamphetamine, and six outstanding warrants for traffic complaints.
