TULSA, OK -- A north Tulsa home was badly damaged by fire in the early hours of Saturday morning. No one was home at the time of the fire which caused about $50,000 in damage.

Tulsa firefighters were called to the home in the 2500 block of North Lansing at about 1 a.m. Flames were shooting out all windows and through the roof upon their arrival, according to Captain Rick Fogelman of the TFD.

"The smoke was banked down due to the cold, and there was little visibility," he said.

"We immediantly sent crews in to attack the fire, and at that point we had a propane explosion and roof collapse," Fogelman said. A small propane tank attacked to a barbeque grill exploded.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Witnesses said the house is occupied but the residents were not present.

Fogelman estimated the damage at $50,000. No firefighters were injured in the blaze.
