TULSA, OK -- Work is underway to develop a video game based on the popular TV show, Project Runway. All the work is being done in Tulsa.

"Tim Gunn comes out and explains to the player what they're going to be doing during the course of the game," said creative director Kris Jackson.

Tulsa's Tornado Studios is creating the Project Runway video game. In fact, they had been working on a game called World of Fashion, which they pitched to the game publisher Atari.

"Atari had the vision of we need to attach a great license to this great game in order to take full benefit of what we want to accomplish," said Tom Kudirka, Tornado Studios.

So Atari worked out an agreement with the Weinstein Company who owns Project Runway and World of Fashion became Project Runway, the video game.

It works just like the show. You get a design challenge. You create that as best you can, fit your model and get her hair and makeup done.

When it's time for the runway show, you use the Wii Fit Board to perfect your runway performance. The better you do on the runway and the closer you come to completing the challenge, the better your score.

It's a family-based game, fun for the whole family and there aren't a lot of those.

"So we decided to target market a game for that demographic," said Tom Kudirka.

The game is being tested and re-tested and is expected to be released next spring to coincide with the next season of Project Runway.
