Bicyclist Hospitalized After Collision With Tulsa Bus

TULSA, OK -- A bicyclist has been hospitalized after being struck by a Tulsa City bus. The accident happened at about 2:45 p.m. Friday near 13th and Lewis.

According to on scene reports, both the bus and the cyclist were going southbound on Lewis Avenue, the cyclist in the right lane. The bus pulled into the left lane to pass the cyclist, and the bicycle veered into the bus's path.

An officer at the scene said they believed a malfunction in the motorized bicycle caused it to veer. She did not think the bicyclist was badly injured, but he was transported by EMSA to a local hospital.
