TULSA, OK -- Unsafe speeds contributed to a single-car crash on north U.S. Highway 169 at about 3 a.m. Saturday. Officers at the scene reported that the driver of a pickup truck was driving too fast  as he attempted to take the exit ramp onto westbound Interstate 244.

The truck traveled along the exit ramp, knocking down a sign and running up the side of the guard wall. Still going at a high rate of speed, the vehicle turned on its side, hit the post of an overhead sign, wrapping around the post.

Damage to the truck was extensive.  The passenger in the truck was ejected, and the driver was pinned. Tulsa Fire Department personnel freed the driver. Both men were transported to local hospitals.

They were conscious and talking to officers at the scene.
