OKLAHOMA CITY -- It's a tedious process but it's necessary for the future of the Oklahoma City National Memorial. Crews have spent the past two months replacing the wiring in each of the 168 chairs.
The Oklahoma weather has taken its toll on the chairs.
“This site and its maintenance is critical to our overall message and mission and making sure people understand the impact of violence and how senseless it is and it goes to the core of our mission,” said Kari Watkins, the Executive Director for the Oklahoma City National Memorial.
The local company Kimray produced the inner-working parts of the chairs as its annual gift to the Memorial.
