OKLAHOMA CITY -- A Wynnewood woman and her 4-month-old son were hospitalized after a car wreck troopers say was caused by talking on a cell phone.
Amber Galvan, 21, was westbound on Interstate 40 at about 10:05 p.m. Saturday when her 2005 Chevy 4D ran off the roadway to the right. The vehicle went into a broad slide then rolled one and a quarter times before coming to rest on the driver’s side.
According to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Galvan was distracted by talking on a cell phone.
Her 4-month-old son Noah Galvan was transported first to Clinton Regional Hospital then taken by Mediflight to Presbyterian Tower in Oklahoma City. He was listed in stable condition with head injuries, the trooper said.
Galvan was treated and released at the Clinton hospital. The baby was in a child restraint safety seat. Galvan was not wearing a safety belt, the report stated.
