Man Found Dead Sunday Afternoon On North Tulsa Street

TULSA, OK -- The Tulsa Police Department is investigating the death of a man who was found at about 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the street in the 2600 block of North Maplewood Avenue.

Several neighbors called police to report the man in the street.

The 47-year-old suffered trauma to his torso and head, according to Capt. Karen Tipler, Tulsa Police Department.

EMSA pronounced the man dead at the scene. His name has not been released, but police say he lived in the area of the incident.

The state medical examiner did a preliminary examination of the victim at the scene. Capt. Tipler said further examination will be needed to determine the cause of death.

Officers are investigating what happened. They learned a moving van was seen in the area. Officers would like to interview those who were in the van to see if they could provide any new information.

Anyone with information the death is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 596-COPS.
