OKLAHOMA CITY – A man was arrested last week after he was locked in a trailer while allegedly trying to steal tires from an Oklahoma City business.

Theodore Ernest Hyrniak, 44, Oklahoma City, was arrested Thursday on a complaint of second degree burglary. He's accused of trying to steal tires from Hibdon Tires Plus.

Police were called to the store, 6414 Northwest Expressway, around 8 p.m. Thursday. An employee told officers that he saw a man open a trailer on the lot in an attempt to steal tires, according to a police report.

While the man was inside the trailer, the employee shut the door and locked the suspect inside, according to the report.

When police arrived, they opened the trailer and arrested Hyrniak.

Hyrniak told police that was going to take some of the tires and thought it was OK, the report read.
