H1N1 Clinics Set for November at Oklahoma City Schools Locations

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Several public H1N1 clinics have been announced by the Oklahoma City-County Health Department in partnership with Oklahoma City Fire Department, EMSA and other volunteers. The clinics will be held at various Oklahoma City Public Schools locations.

Clinics dates, times and locations:

* Wednesday November 4 -- Bethany Public Schools will hold an H1N1 clinic for its students only.

* Saturday November 7 --  John Marshall High School, 12201 N. Portland, Oklahoma City

* Saturday November 14 --  Star Spencer High School, 3001 N Spencer Rd, Spencer

                                                Douglass Mid-High School, 900 ML King, Oklahoma City

* Saturday November 21 --  Northwest Classen High School, 2801 NW 27, Oklahoma City

All clinics will be held from 10 a.m  to 3 p.m.

The clinics will follow new Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Oklahoma State Health Department guidelines, and be open to ONLY the following priority groups:

• Pregnant women

• All children ages 6 months to 18 years

• Custodial parents of infants less than 6 months of age

• Frontline healthcare workers who have direct patient contact with acutely ill persons

• Adults 19 to 64 years of age with chronic disease

The guidelines could change based upon vaccine availability. No seasonal influenza vaccines will be given out at the clinics.

Parking and Spanish translators will be available at all locations.

Anyone bringing a child to the clinic who is not the parent must have a signed permission slip from the parent authorizing the immunizations. The slip must read:

I (Full Name Parent) give permission for (Full Name of Person) to obtain the H1N1 vaccination for: (All children must be listed with full names and date of birth). This slip must be signed and dated with the date they bring the child to the clinic.

The immunizations are free of charge from the health department; however the health department will accept donations to help cover the cost of administering the vaccine.
