PITTSBURG COUNTY - A 14-year-old McAlester boy was killed after being ejected from a car driven by his father at about 7:37 a.m. Saturday. He was not wearing a safety belt.

Jacob C. Allen, 14, died at the scene of the accident when his father's vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by a semi tractor trailer, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. His father, Charles W. Allen, 44, was treated and released from McAlester Regional Health Center.

The Allen's pickup was traveling northbound on Bache Road when it failed to stop at a stop sign crossing U.S. 270 in Pittsburgh County. It was struck by a 2005 Kenworth driven by Bradley G. Hutson, 22, of Clayton.

Hutson was also treated and released from the McAlester Hospital. Both adults involved in the accident were wearing safety restraints, according to the trooper's report.
