DALLAS, TX -- The Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma has been awarded $105,000 from the Environmental Protection Agency.
In a news release from the EPA, the Tribe will use the funds to provide continued support for their water pollution control program.
Surface water sampling on Tribal lands will continue to determine if a more thorough watershed management program is needed to develop water quality standards.
Data analysis after water sampling will determine if Tribal water quality needs are being met.
The analysis will also note any changes in the quality or condition of the Tribe’s water and help understand and define the function and health of water stream ecosystems.
