The first step toward a library dedicated to Tulsa's leaders was unveiled today.

It is a wall with photos and brief summaries of each mayor's time in office. Mayor-elect Dewey Bartlett, Mayor Kathy Taylor and former mayors Roger Randle, Bill LaFortune, Jim Hewgley,
Terry Young, Dick Crawford and Robert LaFortune were on hand for the event.

In addition to the picture wall, each living mayor recorded an interview that will be included. The library is a gift from Mayor Taylor's family.

"Because we have school children field trips every week, and we take them through city hall but now they'll be able to have a piece of history that they can learn about the city,
rather than just view the building," said Mayor Kathy Taylor.

The library will be on the 15th floor of City Hall. Maylor-Elect  Dewey Bartlett's picture will be added after he takes the oath of office.
