More Tulsa County H1N1 Walk-In Clinics Planned

TULSA, OK -- The Tulsa Health Department will be holding three free H1N1 walk-in clinics over the next three weeks.

The Tulsa Health Department reports it has administered more than 25,000 doses of H1N1 vaccine. Additionally, 49,000 doses have been provided to private healthcare providers to administer to their patients.

• The first H1N1 walk-in clinic is Tuesday, November 24th from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Expo Exchange Center at the County Fairgrounds.

The public should enter off of 21st Street between Harvard and Yale at Gate 12. The clinic entrance is on the west side of the Expo Exchange Center building.

• The second H1N1 walk-in clinic is set for Thursday, December 3rd from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Tulsa Community College-west campus located at 7505 W. 41st Street.
• And the third walk-in clinic will be Saturday, December 12th from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Oral Roberts University located at 7777 South Lewis Avenue.

According to a news release from the Tulsa Health Department, those seeking vaccination are encouraged to fill out paperwork ahead of time by downloading a vaccination form and bringing it with you.  Wear clothing that allows for easy access to the arm for those receiving an injectable vaccination. 

Pregnant women and young children continue to be of highest concern.

In addition to the walk-in clinics for the general public, pregnant women and children under 10 who need to receive a booster vaccination can receive their vaccination on a walk-in basis Mondays - Thursdays 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and Fridays 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

• Central Regional Health Center located at 315 S. Utica, Tulsa, OK
• Expo Square Health Center located at 4616 E. 15th Street, Tulsa, OK

At this time, these three clinic locations are only open to pregnant women and children who need a booster vaccination

Residents outside of Tulsa County are encouraged to check with their local county health department for H1N1 vaccine availability.
