TULSA, OK -- Fire damaged a midtown Tulsa home early Monday morning.

Neighbors reported the seeing smoke from the house in the 2200 block of South Oswego at 5 a.m.

Firefighters arrived to find flames coming from the basement of the home.

The house sustained heavy damage.

No one was home at the time.

An investigation into what caused the fire determined it started in the home's floor furnace.

Tulsa Fire officials caution residents to check and clean their floor furnaces, making sure there are no obstructions or items over the floor vent.
