TULSA, OK -- A Tulsa man was injured when police say an apparent drunk driver crashed his pickup into the Latimer Apartment complex, 6600 E. Latimer Place, just after midnight Saturday.

Pedro Lopez, 26, was arrested at the scene for driving under the influence.

Witnesses told police that the pickup driver was swerving and speeding eastbound on Latimer Place when he drove through the grass, clipped a parked truck, smashed into a parked motorcycle then crashed through the brick wall of the one-story apartments.

The driver tried to back up and drive away when a neighbor ran from the apartments and stopped the vehicle in the middle of the street. The name of the Good Samaritan was not known, but he was able to detain the driver until police arrived.

Tulsa Firefighters worked to free the apartment dweller from the rubble of his apartment. He was pinned in his kitchen after the sudden crash.

The victim was taken to a Tulsa hospital with undetermined injuries. The pickup driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
