TULSA, OK -- Tulsa police arrested a 19-year-old for negligent homicide and failure to yield while turning following a fatal car collision Monday night.

Officers responded to the accident at about 7:30 p.m. at 2400 South 101st East Avenue. Police say they quickly determined that the collision had resulted in a fatality.

An investigation revealed that a white Pontiac Grand Am was traveling north on South 101 East Avenue and attempted to turn left onto East 24th Street. The Grand Am turned in front of a southbound Ford F250 truck. Police say the driver of the truck attempted to take evasive action, but clipped the back of the Grand Am.

This spun the Grand Am around and caused the pick up to partially go left of center and hit a north bound Lexus almost head on, according to police.

The impact of the truck and the Lexus resulted in a fatality to the driver of the Lexus, identified as 76-year-old Jane Ferrell. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Grand Am, Brianna Morris, was transported to St. John's Hospital by EMSA and was treated and released. She was interviewed by Traffic Investigators and was later arrested for negligent homicide and failure to yield while turning. She has since been released on bond.

The driver of the Ford truck refused treatment at the scene. A passenger in the truck was transported to St. Francis Hospital with minor injuries.
