Broken Arrow, OK -- Broken Arrow police are looking for two suspects who they say stole a Christmas Shoppers' car at gunpoint.

It happened at the Wal-Mart at 71st and 145th East Avenue on Saturday night.

Broken Arrow police say this is the first carjacking the city has experienced in recent memory.

While rare, they say it should serve as a reminder to all shoppers to be wary this holiday season.

Police say the victim had just come out of the Wal-Mart around 9 p.m. Saturday night when she was approached by a man who pulled out a gun, got in the car and told her to move to the passenger seat.

The victim says when the carjacker struggled to put the car in gear, she jumped out and started running.

That is when investigators say the carjacker fired a shot. The victim was not hit, and says she simply acted on instinct.

"I just remember thinking I'm not sticking around for what he may or may not want to do to me. I just remember thinking he's going to kill me or rape. And I would have much rather been shot then go through either one of those," the carjacking victim said.

Police recovered the victim's Nissan nearby. They say the carjacker had an accomplice who was driving a jeep.

Investigators believe they took off in that car with her purse, as well as some CD's, and they did use one of her credit cards.

If you know anything that could help the investigation, call Crimestoppers at 596-COPS.
