OKLAHOMA CITY -- There have been 22 earthquakes in Oklahoma this year; that is the most since 1889.
The latest quake happened on Sunday and measured a 3.4 on the Richter scale.
It hit in the Jones area in Oklahoma County.
The Oklahoma Geological Survey says quakes like this happen all the time and small quakes can actually prevent a larger one from happening. Still experts say the number of quakes is a little high.
"This is unusual to see it last this long. Normally it dissipates over several weeks or a couple month's period," said Dr. Ken Luza with the Oklahoma Geological Survey.
There are no reports of any injuries or damages with this latest earthquake.
