TULSA, OK -- Tulsa firefighters responded to a single car accident at about 8:15 a.m. Thursday morning when a driver crashed into a tree off 46th Street North near U.S. Highway 169.

Rainy conditions are believed to have contributed the accident.

A witness said the car was coming off southbound Highway 169 to go westbound on 46th Street North. The vehicle lost traction, spun around several times coming off the roadway and slamming into a tree.

Firefighters said the man was conscious as they extricated him from the Chrysler two-door sedan.

Tulsa is on Operation Slick Streets which means that Tulsa police only respond to injury accidents. If drivers have non-injury accidents that are asked to exchange insurance information and pick up an accident form at QuikTrip or another convenience story.
