Red Cross, Haiti Effort Get Assist From Tulsa Oilers

The Tulsa Oilers will assist the American Red Cross with its efforts to aid Haitian earthquake victims this weekend.  Fans can get in free by texting a donation to the Red Cross Haiti effort.

TULSA, OK -- The Tulsa Oilers will assist the American Red Cross with its efforts to aid Haitian earthquake victims this weekend.

At both games this weekend, fans at the game who make a $10 donation to the Red Cross effort by text messaging the word "Haiti" to number 90999 will also receive a free ticket to a future Oilers game.

Fans will simply take their text message confirmation to the Oilers Fan Assistance Center to receive their free ticket.

The weekend's games are Friday's 7:35 p.m. match up with Wichita and Sunday's 4:05 p.m. game with Rio Grande Valley at the BOK Center.

"This is certainly an event that's bigger than hockey and we want to encourage our fans to do their part to help the Red Cross in its efforts to help the earthquake victims," said Oilers General manager Taylor Hall.

"The $10 donations are really adding up and making a big difference."

Biggest Loser Winner Also On Hand Friday

Broken Arrow resident Danny Cahill, who has gained national prominence since losing 239 pounds on a national television reality show will be on hand at the Tulsa Oilers game Friday night against the Wichita Thunder at 7:35.

Cahill, will join Broken Arrow vice-mayor Phil Turner in a ceremonial face-off prior to the game. Cahill will also be on hand promoting the new Big Brothers Big Sisters Sports Buddies program. Fans will be able to meet Cahill during the intermissions.
