TULSA, OK -- Utility crews across the state are on high alert.  They are gearing up and standing by to make sure you are not left in the dark.

Several hundred crews are staging a the Tulsa County Fairgrounds.

Thankfully, there have been no widespread power outages in Tulsa have been reported yet but there have been some scattered power flashes and a few hundred homes near Berryhill were without power for a little while around sunset Thursday.

Folks have logged on to our NewsOn6.com live web chat to report their lights have flashed. It seems that they seemed to be having the flashes at our near the same time despite being spread out across Green Country.

So far the darkness that enveloped much of Green country in the December of 2007 storm has not happened.

However, the lessons of 2007 linger and that is why we find dozens of utility trucks here at the Tulsa County fairgrounds, ready to get to work.

Crews have come in from surrounding states to help out if they're needed. So far, so good but this weather is far from over.

The News On 6 has crisscrossed the metro area overnight and we did see some icing on power lines but no sagging lines.

The crews say they are prepared if it gets worse.
