TULSA, OK -- Tulsa Police have released 911 calls made by a 9-year-old girl on Monday.

Police say 33-year-old Allen Shields had concealed himself in the girl's home all day Monday, waiting for the girl's mother to come home.

Police say when Shields attacked the woman, the girl ran into the bathroom and called 911.

On the tapes, the little girl is hiding. She's whispering, has trouble remembering her address, but she was very brave and police say because of her, they got there just in time.

The girl tells a police 911 dispatcher the man broke in and pepper sprayed her mother and was threatening to kill her.

911: "Police emergency."
Girl: "I want you to please help me. Somebody's trying to kill my mama. Please hurry."
911: "What's he trying to kill her with?"
Girl: "I don't know but she.. "
911:  "How do you know they're trying to kill her if you can't see it?"
Girl: "I'm in my room."
911: Who's trying to kill your mom? If you're in your room, you can tell me."
Girl: "My mom's ex boyfriend."
911: "Ex-boyfriend, what's his name?"
Girl: "Allen Shields."

The 9-year-old girl told dispatch she was hiding and that Shields had done this before. The three of them were the only ones home, and she even described what he was wearing.

She called 911 twice, then they called her back.

Girl: "Hello."
911: "Yes, this is Mary with the police department. I have police officers there but they can't get to the door."
Girl: "Can they break the door open?"
911: "They can't do that without seeing anybody. Is there anyway you can go to the door?"
Girl: "I can't, he's gonna try to kill me."
911: "He's got what?"
Girl: "He's gonna try to kill me."
911: "Baker 30, I'm on the phone with a little girl who's whispering in a bathroom, she is terrified to open the door, said her mom is crying."

Officers decide the situation is life or death, so go in blind and kick the open the door. They believe they got there before anyone was hurt or killed because of a brave, frightened little girl.

911: "Hey, they're kicking in the door. I want you to stay in the bathroom, okay. Stay on the phone with me, okay."
Girl: "Okay."

Police say when they kicked in the door, Allen Shields ran to a back room, threw his gun under a bed and gave up. He's in jail on $1.25 million bond for charges that include kidnapping and assault.

The woman had filed a protective order against him once, but, later dropped it. Police say she's terrified of him.
