Tulsa Community Foundation Supporting Tulsa Trail Renovation

TULSA, OK -- The Tulsa Community Foundation is donating $32,500 to help pay for the renovation of the Midland Valley Trail near 21st Street.

The donation will be matched with $32,500 in city sales tax money and $65,000 in state funding to finish out the $130,000 project. The city money is from a fund for capital improvements to the trail system, and is not general fund money that could otherwise go to salaries.

The work will begin at the River Parks Pedestrian Bridge and end at 21st Street. The section is just short of one mile long. The improvements will include new lighting, benches, water fountains, trash cans and new paving for the trail.

The state money is a grant that requires local matching money. The city is providing half of the match, and the Tulsa Community Foundation is providing the rest.
