OKLAHOMA CITY -- A 2-year-old girl was killed after a family friend accidentally backed over the toddler in the family's driveway Wednesday evening, according to police.
Police said they originally responded to a hit-and-run around 5:30 p.m. in the 3500 block of South Liberty Avenue in southwest Oklahoma City, but after investigating, they determined the infant, Yurianna Rosales, died in a tragic accident.
Rosales was rushed by a personal car to Southwest Medical Center where she died.
"It doesn't look like we're going to be filing any criminal charges at least tonight. Once we get everything completed, of course, we'll let the District Attorney review everything that we found, but at this point it looks like to us as just a tragic, sad accident," said Oklahoma City Police Lt. Nancy Rateliff.
A memorial fund was set up for Yurianna Rosales at First United Bank at SW 59th Street and Western Avenue.
