TULSA, OK -- A Tulsa motorcycle police officer was injured Thursday morning after losing control of his motorcycle. Officer Ross Williams wrecked near the intersection of Interstate 244 and Harvard Avenue at about 11 a.m.

Williams and another motorcycle officer were turning left onto Harvard Avenue from the westbound I-244 exit ramp when he lost control. His left leg appeared to have been caught between the roadway and the bike, causing injury to his left ankle.

Officer Williams was transported by EMSA to a local hospital where he was met by family and friends, according to Tulsa Police Captain Jonathan Brooks.

The circumstances of the accident are still under investigation by Advanced Traffic Investigators.
