OKLAHOMA CITY -- College basketball fans are braving the bitter cold on the first day of spring.

Many fans from Iowa, who were wearing only sweatshirts and jeans, told NEWS 9 they're used to this. "This weather doesn't bother us one bit, we just want our Panthers to win," one fan said.

However Kansas State fans said they're surprised by the 70 degree weather from Friday to the snowstorm today. "I wasn't expecting this, I only packed my sweatshirt, shorts and flip flops, it's ridiculous," another fan said.

Visitors are getting out of the frigid weather by staying indoors and watching the NCAA games at restaurants and sports bars.

"We're ready for our KU and Kansas State to win!" said one Jayhawks fan. "It's my birthday today and that would be the best present."

"You call this a blizzard?" one UNI fan asked. "We get this at home all the time, this is a normal day for us."
