John 3:16 Mission Throws Birthday Party For Tulsa's Homeless

TULSA, OK -- There were games, candles and cake at the John 3:16 Mission Tuesday night. It was all part of a birthday party for Tulsa's homeless.

Dozens were treated to pizza, homemade birthday cards and gift bags that included snacks and new clothes.

"The homeless that are on our streets everyday rarely ever have any interaction with their families or anybody that they are close enough with to celebrate a birthday with, so once a year we throw a giant birthday party for all the homeless in the city of Tulsa," said Steve Whitaker, Executive Director.

This is the sixth year John 3:16 hosted the party.
