PAYNE COUNTY, Oklahoma -- A 20-year-old Stillwater man was killed when he wrecked his 1995 Honda overnight Sunday. Troopers say alcohol and unsafe speed contributed to the fatal accident.
Jordan Taylor Meissner was northbound on County Road Sangre, about a half mile south of 32nd Street in Stillwater, when his car left the roadway and struck a tree. Meissner was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead of head and internal injuries at Stillwater Medical Center.
According to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, there was an order of alcoholic beverage on the driver, and the cause of the wreck was unsafe speed.
Meissner was not wearing a seat belt, according to the OHP report.
