One Person Is Dead Following Wreck On Port Road

ROGERS COUNTY -- One person is dead following a crash involving a motorcycle on 46th Street North near 145^th East Avenue Tuesday morning. 

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the motorcyclist was westbound on 46^th Street North, also known as the Port Road, when he came up behind a garbage truck that was also westbound.  

Troopers tell The News On 6 they believe the cyclist was driving recklessly before the crash. 

The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.   The victim's name has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

The OHP says the truck did not have working tail lights. 

The roadway was closed for about 45 minutes while troopers investigated the accident.
