Tulsa Police: Suicidal Suspect Surrenders After Firing 6 Shots

TULSA, OK -- It took about four hours early Wednesday morning, but Tulsa Police finally took a 33-year old man into custody after the man fired off several gunshots into the air.

Police say officers responded to a call of suicidal suspect firing a handgun into the air at about 3:30 a.m. in the 2700 block of West Cameron.

Officers say the man, who was in a wheelchair, had gone back inside his duplex after firing six shots.

Over the next four hours, police officers talked to the man into surrendering.

Tulsa Police say the man was taken to a mental facility for evaluation.

No one was hurt.
