Tulsa TEA Party Protesters Sound Off

TULSA, OK -- With Thursday night's tax deadline, hundreds gathered at the Tulsa County Fairgrounds said they're taxed enough already.

The TEA party movement took over Tulsa's Expo Square on Thursday.

"And today Washington ideas have trumped Oklahoma values, and I say enough is enough," said State Senator Randy Brogdon (R-Owasso), a candidate for Oklahoma governor.

Tea Party protestors brought out the Constitution and quoted the Declaration of Independence.

Oklahoma's Tea Party movement spent tax day rallying around their cause and letting lawmakers know they don't like where this country is headed. They railed against tyranny, corruption, and even took shots at the "President" - or a masked man trying to look like him.

"I'm allowing people to vent their frustration, yes!" said the "President" in the Dunk Tank.

It's a movement that frustrates some.

"They're complaining about taxes," said Sarah Kramer, a Democrat. "This is one of the lowest taxed state in the nation, and it shows - doesn't it! Our roads are falling apart. Our schools suck. Police are being laid off; firemen are being laid off; teachers are being laid off. And they want this for the whole country!"

But that was definitely the minority view. And many of this crowd are hoping to make the majority in Congress the minority next fall.

"I have high hopes to see all of you in November to increase unemployment by firing congress," said one protestor.

"And we just need to take our damn country back. And in November, by God, let everybody get out and make your feelings known.

Nearly half of Americans don't have to pay federal income taxes today, because they don't owe any. Under the Obama administration, individual federal income taxes have been cut by more than $170 billion.

Taxes for those making more than $250,000 have gone back up to what they were in the 90's.
