Neighbor Arrested In Assault On Elderly Tulsa County Man

TULSA, OK -- An elderly Tulsa County man is listed in critical condition at a Tulsa hospital following a home invasion Wednesday morning in the 4400 block of West 56^th Street.

The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office says 88-year-old Aaron Brewer was asleep when an intruder entered the home and attacked Brewer. 

Deputies say there was struggle before Brewer was able to grab his handgun and chase the intruder out of the house. 

Brewer told deputies he recognized the intruder as Michael Farris, who lived across the street from Brewer. 

Deputies were able to locate Farris and arrest him. 

Brewer received lacerations to his face and a head injury, which caused bleeding on the brain. 

Farris was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of first-degree burglary and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
