Tulsans Asked To Be Vigilant In Wake Of NYC Attempted Terrorist Attack

TULSA, OK -- Tulsa's mayor and police chief want you to be vigilant in the wake of an attempted terrorist attack in New York City.

At a news conference Friday, Mayor Dewey Bartlett said there's no current threat to the city, but that Tulsans should still be on the lookout for potential threats.

For the city's part, Tulsans can expect aggressive patrols at high-profile targets in Tulsa, including some of the newest landmarks, like ONEOK Field and the new city hall.

The city will also work to better share information and intelligence, but Tulsa Police Chief Chuck Jordan says it's the average citizen who can have the biggest impact.

"Just like any crime, we rely heavily on members of our community to be our eyes and ears for what's going on out there," said Chief Jordan.

The city is working to develop a suspicious activity report for citizens to fill out.
