SAND SPRINGS, OK -- Pro skateboarder Tony Hawk is pitching in to help bring a new skate park to Sand Springs.

Representatives from Hawk's foundation awarded the Sand Springs Park Friends a $5,000 grant on Friday.

The money will be used to help bring a professionally designed skate park to Sand Spring's Town Center.

Just last month, an anonymous donor pledged to match gifts dollar for dollar, up to $25,000.

So far they've raised more than $91,000, but the Park Friends won't break ground until they have at least $125,000 in the bank.
