Police Detonate Pipe Bomb Found Near Bethany High School

OKLAHOMA CITY -- A pipe bomb was discovered in a truck near Bethany High School in the early hours of Saturday.

The bomb was reportedly discovered during a routine traffic stop.

The Oklahoma City bomb squad along with Bethany police were out all night near Northwest 50th Street and Stinchcomb Drive trying to retrieve the explosive device with the bomb squad robot.

They detonated the bomb at the scene just before 5:30 a.m. Saturday. There were no injuries.

Police questioned and released three men in relation to the pipe bomb.
