MUSKOGEE, OK -- The Muskogee Police Department got some new ballistic vests for its officers from Ten-Four Ministries on Tuesday.

According to a news release, Ten-Four Ministries was formed in 2002 to provide practical and spiritual support to the Law Enforcement community.

The Armor of God Project is managed by Ten-Four Ministries and is responsible for providing ballistic vests, free of charge, to sworn peace officers across the world.

The release says since being formed one year ago, 991 vests have been given to officers in 42 states and three countries.

"It is both an honor and privilege to provide this much needed equipment to local heroes across the globe. In a day where the men and women behind the badge are facing dangerous situations on a daily basis, we must insist on as much protection as we can give to protect our officers,"said Travis Yates, the Director of Ten-Four Ministries.

The presentation took place Tuesday evening at the Muskogee Police Department at 112 South Third Street.
