Oak Grove Woman Killed In House Fire

OAK GROVE, OK -- An Oak Grove woman was killed in a house fire early Saturday morning in the 26000 block of East Admiral Place.

When Oak Grove firefighters arrived to the scene at about 6:25 a.m., the fire was in a back bedroom, according to Assistant State Fire Marshall JoAnne Sellars.

"A husband and wife lived there in the house," Sellars said Sunday.

The husband went to work and received a call from his wife about an hour later saying there was smoke in the home.

"The fire was in the back bedroom where this lady stays," Sellars said. The woman was in her 60s and was on oxygen.

The State Fire Marshall's office is investigating the cause of the fire. The cause of death is also under investigation. This is the first fatal fire for the Oak Grove Fire Department.
