OKLAHOMA CITY -- The GOP leader of the Oklahoma Senate says he supports the idea of a new transition coordinator post at the state medical examiner's office and acknowledges he heard a state senator mentioned as a candidate for the job.

Senate President Pro Tem Glenn Coffee said Tuesday he's

uncertain who crafted the language that appeared in the bill he authored during the final days of session.

Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater has launched a corruption probe into whether state Sen. Debbe Leftwich, D-Oklahoma City, agreed not to seek re-election in exchange for the newly created position.

Prater says he's also investigating whether state Reps. Randy Terrill and Mike Christian conspired to have Leftwich leave her seat so that Christian could run for the post.
