TULSA---The Tulsa area is host this week to 302 students from across the country. They volunteered their time and even paid an average of $250 to participate in a program called World Changers.

In their 20th year, World Changers are roofing, painting, and working to alleviate substandard housing with 23,000 volunteers nationwide.

‘It's a great experience to come and witness to people,' said Terry Ezell, of Woodlawn, Arkansas, ‘the opportunity  to come and work, to be around good Christian people, it's amazing.'

Unfortunately some people stole tools brought on the trip by breaking into a locked trailer in the parking lot of The Rolling Hills Baptist Church in Catoosa where some volunteers were staying.

Grace Rodney does media relations for World Changers, and has a good perspective on the setback.

‘We definitely see it as an opportunity to get out there and share what we do even more, which is great, and so we're not letting it set us back too much,' she said.
