TULSA, OK -- A 6-year-old girl was injured after a drive-by shooting overnight Thursday in the 700 block of Mohawk Boulevard. Tulsa Police thought at first that the child had been shot in the head, but an emergency room doctor said she was hit by a fragment or piece of debris.

The shooting happened at 1:44 a.m. when someone fired about 18 rounds into the home. The girl was sleeping in the front southeast corner of the house, police say. Several family members were home, but no one else was injured.

It was the second of two drive-by shootings within about three hours. At about 11:36 p.m. Wednesday two rounds were fired into a house in the 1900 block of North Florence Place.

Officers say that four shots were fired, two penetrating the house. Another round struck the family's car, and a third was not found. No one was injured in the shooting.

Police had no suspect information in either drive-by shooting.
