TULSA, OK -- The Tulsa Health Department is helping make the city a better place to live for everyone.

Sixty health department workers took the lead in a neighborhood cleanup project Friday afternoon. They looked at their health data to see which areas needed the most help and focused their efforts on north Tulsa.

"The health department wanted to partner with the community to help clean up the neighborhood to be able to identify dilapidated housing structures and to be able to record those addresses and share that information with the city," said Reggie Ivey, Interim Director, Tulsa Health Department.  "We are committed to seeing health improvements for all County residents. The clean up effort is a very visible way to impact the area."

Health Department staff also took notes on any abandoned buildings they came across during their cleanup. They plan to give their findings to the city for follow-up.
